I once heard it said that we are the sum total of the choices we have made to this point in our lives. When you really think about this statement, most would agree it is true. Now some may say that I am who I am and I am this way or that way because of what has happened to me in my life. I get this and understand this reasoning but the reality is all of us probably have been victimized at some point and probably just about anyone of us can become a victim at any given point in time. Loss of a job, loss of loved one, an accident, a war, bullying and human rights violations of any type would cover a laundry list for why someone may become a victim.  But once again I heard it said that staying a victim is a choice too. There are thousands of rags to riches stories and many heartwarming stories of achievement against all odds.  And of course, it is not how many times we fail or fall down, it is more about how many times we rise up after we fail or fall down that will dictate our future. I also heard it said that Thomas Edison attempted over 900 ways to invent the light bulb and he just said, I learned 900 ways it won’t work. But he didn’t quit and his invention advanced civilization.

decision making

I have made some good choices in my life and I have made some poor choices in my life. I pray daily that I can make as many right decisions on a regular basis that will move me closer to my Lord and Savior and away from the evil one. That sounds pretty simple – doesn’t it? But with the love and joy of the risen Christ embedded deep into our heart, all things are possible. I hope this little paragraph can illustrate to many others the importance of making good choices and then to strive to continue to make good choices. Let’s understand that none of us are perfect. Life is a journey to be enjoyed and those good choices are works in progress.

A few years ago, I was introduced to a company that is based on Christian values. In 1956, when this company was born it was perceived to be a little bit corny to adopt a business philosophy based on the “Golden Rule.” Now some 60 years later many companies have adopted similar business philosophies and that is great, however, unfortunately, many companies just offer lip service when it comes to treating others as you would like to be treated. Sometimes it is just greed and the almighty dollar that gets in the way. For 60 years there has never been a hint of a waiver from this business philosophy commitment. It is deeply engrained into the fabric of Shaklee.

Dr. Shaklee, during the infancy of the Shaklee Corporation, stated that “I want a company that will improve the quality of life for everyone it touches.” In my opinion, this was a gross understatement. The first benefit and one of the most important benefits this company afforded me were choices. The choice to invest more time with my family doing the things we really love to do. And to do them on the days the weather is nice and not having to wait for weekends. We get to choose who we work with. Hopefully, you like your boss but if you don’t care for your boss, now you have a choice. Maybe you have run out of upside promotions and you have advanced as far as possible and now you feel trapped. With this program, we get to choose when we work and how many hours we work. We get to determine our income and there is no limit as to how much we can make. Our income is based on our efforts and production, not on seniority or experience or any other mumbo jumbo. And guess what? We succeed when we help others to success. It is a win, win for everyone and our business is not determined by the economy or politics including office politics. And it is certainly not predicated on back stabbing or trying to make someone look bad so you look better. This is teamwork at its best and it is free enterprise at its best. Small business is what makes the country strong and the economy vibrant. It is a business model that will empower people to live a lifestyle of personal freedom. And guess what? You won’t have to invest your life savings to get started. The financial investment to get started is very minimal especially if you compare it to other businesses ($349.00) and also when you weigh in the upside potential. Business leaders who have climbed the “Stairway to Success” and now make over $200,000 per year state that if this program cost $10,000.00, it would be a bargain. Our sole supplier is the Shaklee Corporation and as a vehicle for growth we recommend “Your Freedom Project.” Your Freedom Project offers many tools for building and growing a strong and vibrant business. And you can do it all from the comfort of your home using your computer if you so choose. There is that word again. Choices. We can now offer these same tools that we use to grow our business to help new and interested people to make a move to “Freedom Lane.”

If you feel stuck and maybe you feel like you are in Trappsville. Trappsville is having more month at the end of the money or living paycheck to paycheck. Now you have a choice. To get started and to see how I do it, go to www.DavidPiro.com
